Shaw and CTV to Provide Extensive Olympics Coverage in French

V Network to be widely available during the Games

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 5, 2010) - Shaw Communications Inc. (TSX:SJR.B) (NYSE:SJR) and CTVglobemedia are proud to offer the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games in French and English.

Effective February 12, customers in the Vancouver area will be able to watch French coverage of the Olympics on channel 40 in the spot normally held by Bravo. The V network will provide Francophone viewers with CTV's sports coverage through the end of the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games on February 28, 2010.

Bravo, normally found on channel 40, will move to digital channel 56 – and back to its usual spot on March 1, 2010. This change is effective for the Vancouver area, including Whistler and Squamish.

"As a proud supporter of Canadian athletes, we are committed to providing extensive coverage in both of Canada's official languages," said Peter Bissonnette, President, Shaw Communications Inc. "We are thrilled that viewers will be able to catch V's coverage of the Olympics on channel 40 in Vancouver."

Shaw is continually working to expand Francophone programming, currently offering RDS and V network as a free preview for digital subscribers throughout our major markets, including Vancouver.

"Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium has gone to great effort and expense to deliver the widest possible access of our Olympic Games programming across Canada. Accessibility to our French-language coverage has been a priority for the Consortium since we won the rights to broadcast the Games, and we are pleased that cable subscribers will be able to enjoy our French-language coverage on V from February 12-28," said Gerry Frappier, French Chef de Mission for Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. "Shaw has been an extremely supportive partner in ensuring that V Télé is available to all of their subscribers in Vancouver, the lower mainland and Whistler."
