Shear Wind Broadens Scope into Saskatchewan

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA AND CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2007) - Mike Magnus, President & CEO of Shear Wind Inc. ("Shear Wind") (TSX VENTURE:SWX) is pleased to announce commencement of initial stages of feasibility and development of leased lands in Saskatchewan.

The broadening of scope into Saskatchewan complements Shear Wind's Alberta projects which have recently received positive news with the lifting of the 900MW Threshold that the Alberta Electric Supply Operator (AESO) announced on September 26, 2007 in Calgary.

Shear Wind has been successful in locating and leasing lands on a potential wind farm site in the western region of Saskatchewan. This site is located in an area well known for excellent wind resources and is adjacent to transmission for generation off-take. Shear Wind believes that the site could provide an economically feasible project of up to 150 Megawatts ("MW"). This brings Shear Wind's pipeline potential to 1500 MW.

Louise Clarke, Senior Director Business Development, is very pleased with this recent acquisition. "The wind blows consistently across this region and the landowners agree it is a great opportunity for their community to contribute to "green energy" generation in the province, and utilize the resource they have come to take for granted." This site encompasses over 20,000 acres of cultivated land.

Long term wind monitoring will begin this fall, to provide a more clear understanding of the magnitude of this wind opportunity.
