The latest release of ShoreTel's award-winning unified communications system, release 8.0, takes advantage of Vidyo's technology utilizing the latest enhancement to the H.264 standard for video compression: Scalable Video Coding (SVC). Vidyo's groundbreaking technology enables ShoreTel to provide high-quality video and network resiliency at an attractive cost to every desktop, including remote workers.

The new H.264/SVC protocol is a video compression standard that enables a video stream to be broken into multiple resolutions, quality levels and bit rates. Utilizing this capability and Vidyo's intellectual property, VidyoTechnology offers unprecedented error resiliency while eliminating the MCU. The VidyoRouter™ is the first video multipoint solution that can deliver rate matching and continuous presence capabilities without an additional video encode and decode. This unique capability allows for half of the end-to-end delay of MCU-based solutions, as well significantly lowers port price.
