Showcase Media Launches Interactive Touch-Screens in Toronto Taxicabs

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2007) - Showcase Media Group Inc. announces the launch of a network of digital kiosks in the rear seats of Toronto taxicabs. The screens, which were launched in over 100 downtown taxicabs, feature both content and advertisements that can be viewed by cab passengers.

A first to Toronto, the interactive touch-screens offer a number of advertising opportunities including full-motion flash & video spots, static banner ads & a scrolling ticker. The screens feature an interactive city guide with a business directory. In addition, a printer beneath each screen enables cab patrons to print a coupon relating to the ad. GPS-activated ads allow advertisers to play specific ads corresponding to the location of the cab within the city.

The screens, which were developed in conjunction with Road Runner Media Inc., are slated to be launched by Showcase Media in several North American cities in 2008. "We already in talks with a number of cab companies and taxicab authorities across Canada and the US," said Peter Kopelis, President of Showcase Media. Showcase Media already has plans to launch another 150 screens in Toronto cabs by year end.

"We've been very pleased with the advertiser's response to our medium. Initial sales have exceeded our projected targets," said Adam Watson, Executive Director of Sales of Showcase Media. "Companies are starting to realize the overwhelming benefits of digital mediums, especially ones that have the ability to connect with mobile consumers in a captive environment."

Showcase Media launched similar digital screens in Durham region taxicabs earlier this year as part of a test pilot. The screens recently won an award in Sign Media Canada's 2007 National Sign Competition in the digital signage category.

The Toronto screens also include features designed to engage a captive audience, including city facts, trivia and jokes. Cab patrons are free to browse local restaurants, shops and attractions listed in the directory. The launch included campaigns by Rogers Wireless, E-Trade, Seagram's, Magnotta Wineries and a number of other local and national advertisers. For more information, visit www.ShowcaseMediaInc.com.
