Simon Lee Recognized for Philanthropic Contributions

STG President and CEO Gives Speech at GWU's President's Ball

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - November 20, 2007) - STG President and CEO Simon Lee was recently honored to be a speaker at the George Washington University's (GWU) annual President's Ball. Mr. Lee, a GWU graduate, has pledged $500,000 towards the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) Building Fund.

"The education my family and I received at George Washington is invaluable," said Mr. Lee. "I was moved by all that GWU has done for me and my family, and my donation is a way that I can give back to the University."

In May 2005, four members of the Lee family -- Simon, daughters Julie and Michelle, and son Philip -- received degrees on the same day (Simon, Julie and Philip a Masters; Michelle her Bachelors). It was an event that made headlines, and a special day for the Lee family.

Simon Lee is the living embodiment of the American dream. A Korean immigrant, he originally enrolled at GWU's masters program in 1979, shortly after coming to the United States. After 6 months, however, he was forced to put his education on hold because both money and time were too tight. As time passed, Mr. Lee became increasingly successful -- growing the company he founded, STG, into a $200 million global operation. A believer that "We are never too old to learn, and never too young to teach," the desire to forward his education continued to drive him.

In 2004, Mr. Lee decided that the time was right to go back to GWU and get the degree he originally sought. He convinced Julie and Philip to join him in achieving his quest, and the rest is Lee family (and GWU) history.

"I look forward to the day when my youngest daughter, Allison, now 15, graduates from GWU, so we can have 5 George Washington graduates in the Lee family." Mr. Lee added, "Leading by example, I have demonstrated to my children the importance of giving back to the school so that they, and eventually their children, will continue the legacy of giving."
