Sitecore Expands Global Web Content Management Presence With Significant Revenue Growth and Strong Customer Demand

Company Reports Revenue Growth Up Over 40 Percent Over 2008 and Customer Renewals at 96 Percent

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - December 21, 2009) - Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) software, today announced that the company closed the fiscal year 2009 with more than 40 percent revenue growth worldwide over the previous year.

Despite a severe global economic slowdown, Sitecore continues to achieve record-breaking revenue and expand globally. Customer satisfaction remains high, with more than 96 percent of global customers renewing their maintenance agreements. Consistent with its business model, approximately 94 percent of Sitecore's revenue comes from new license sales and maintenance, 5 percent from training, and less than 1 percent from customer enablement services. Sitecore's strong partner base has expanded to more than 400 certified partners worldwide, and more than 2000 certified developers. The company has expanded worldwide to 160 employees, with more than 50 percent in technical and R&D positions.

The Sitecore global expansion continues to proceed successfully, as the company conducted business in 10 new markets this past fiscal year. Record level growth was recorded in Australia and the UK, while the North American market contributed more than 50 percent of revenue. The company will expand into the Japanese market with an office opening planned for the current fiscal year.

Sitecore's growth has been led by significant expansion of the company's customer base with marquee brands including British Red Cross, Canon Australia, Costco, Fidelity Investments, Inter IKEA Centre Group, Lloyds of London, Molson Canada, Play.com, Revlon, St. Jude's Medical Center, Universal Music and University of British Columbia. Customer demand for Sitecore technology continues across a broad mixture of industries and organization types, and Sitecore's new products increasingly resonate with more business and marketing decision-makers.

"The industry is in the midst of a transformation as marketing automation, Web analytics, online campaigns and email marketing play major roles in the next phase of Web CMS technology," said Michael Seifert, CEO, Sitecore. "While others have had to remain static and are riding out the recession wave, we have continued to innovate and provide our customers and partners with advances in our CMS platform to provide a single integrated solution, making their businesses more profitable and efficient."

Sitecore's product innovation continued with the release of Sitecore Online Marketing Suite, in addition to updates to its Intranet Portal and Foundry products. Sitecore was positioned as a leader in the Visionaries quadrant in the Gartner report, "Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management."
