Social Gaming Network (SGN) Unveils 'Space Movers: The Bloom Initiative'; Introduces Gaming for Causes Through Partnership With the Arbor Day Foundation

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - August 4, 2008) - Social Gaming Network (SGN), the leading global development platform for social game distribution, announced today that they have partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation and released the first in a new line of high-quality games on the social web, Space Movers: The Bloom Initiative, a game bridging causes and gaming on social networks.

SGN has united with the Arbor Day Foundation to re-grow forests around the world. SGN will donate up to $50,000 of Space Movers game revenue -- equivalent to planting 50,000 new trees -- to the Arbor Day Foundation. With the help of donors and corporate sponsors like SGN, the Arbor Day Foundation works to support positive tree conservation and education projects. SGN will also provide the opportunity for users to donate money to the Arbor Day Foundation from within the game.

Space Movers is the first social game production of its kind. The game was designed in-house at SGN, with an original soundtrack and advanced social gaming features and branded with the Arbor Day Foundation's logo throughout the game. Space Movers will first be available on Facebook and soon players will be able to compete asynchronously with old friends and new opponents on additional social networks like MySpace and Bebo. With the release of this game, SGN has catapulted social gaming to the next level. Not only does Space Movers include adorable characters, a quick paced gaming experience, and a catchy beat -- but game play is now a meaningful and world changing experience.

In preparation for the Space Movers launch, SGN created a special website -- "" -- that prompted gamers to return every day to find out more about what the game was going to be like, and what 'the bloom initiative' was all about. The team wanted to create excitement and mystery around what was happening today, August 4 -- the Space Movers launch. The website will be the home of the Space Movers gaming community and continue to serve up stats and updates on how many trees have been planted and how the game has positively impacted the Arbor Day Foundation.

Last month SGN announced investment by Bezos Expeditions and in May 2008 SGN announced a $15 million Series A round lead by Greylock Partners and Founders Fund.

Shervin Pishevar, CEO, SGN

"Our vision has always been to increase the quality of games being played on the social web. We want to develop games that inspire, bring people together and serve a purpose. By partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to redevelop forests across the globe, we have given our users a fun way to make a difference, and one that they can easily share with others."

Kevin Sander, Director of Corporate Sponsorships, Arbor Day Foundation

"The moment SGN approached us about Space Movers we were most excited about reaching a whole new demographic of potential Arbor Day Foundation members and when we had the opportunity to check out Space Movers, we realized the SGN vision is to offer something original and special to game players on the social web -- the ability to make a difference while they play."
