Socket Communications to Exhibit at ISA Expo 2006

Socket to Unveil Latest Addition to Its Award-Winning Data Collection Product Line

NEWARK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 16, 2006 -- Socket Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity products, today announced its participation in the ISA Expo 2006 in Houston from Oct. 17-19, 2006. Socket Communications will join Software Horizons, Inc. in booth 2561.

Socket data collection products include bar code scanning, RFID solutions and magnetic stripe reader cards that plug into or connect wirelessly to mobile computing devices and convert mobile computing devices into portable bar code scanners or RFID readers that can be used in various retail and industrial workplaces.

Socket connectivity products can be plugged into standard expansion slots in handheld computers to connect mobile devices over wireless and wired systems. These products allow mobile users to connect to the Internet or corporate e-mail servers whenever and wherever they might be.
