SodaStream Aligns With Planet Organic for Earth Day Taste Challenge

Challenge to Take Place at Planet Organic in Honor of Earth Day; Chance to Win a Home Soda Machine

WINNEPEG, MB--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) -  SodaStream, the award winning world leader in home produced sparkling beverages, has partnered with Planet Organic, a leading market in the natural food business, for the 2010 Earth Day Taste Challenge, April 22, 2010.

The SodaStream taste challenge will take place on April 22 from 11:30 AM-4:30 PM at all Planet Organic locations in Canada. To see a full list visit: www.planetorganic.ca/ourstores

Attendees will be invited to compare taste, quality, and learn about the environmental impact of the SodaStream home soda machine compared against traditional store bought soda. Participants will also receive valuable information on how they can make a positive impact on the environment while changing the way they enjoy soda forever.

"Planet Organic is a perfect venue to host our taste challenge event," said Marta Mikita-Wilson, president of eco stream, exclusive Canadian distributor of SodaStream. "Our goals are simple, to provide solutions and alternatives that result in a better planet and a better you. The Earth Day Taste Challenge Event is a fun and tasty way to learn more about environmental issues and how small lifestyle changes can deeply affect the future of our planet."

The Machine:

The SodaStream line of soda-makers provides an endless supply of sparkling water made from tap water in just a few seconds. It's also more environmentally friendly than store bought soft drinks because its carbonating bottles are reusable, helping to reduce the pollution and waste caused by transportation and disposal of billions of plastic bottles each year.

The Difference:

SodaStream is an "Active Green" product, meaning that consumers are actively reducing their carbon footprint every time they make soda or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store. The more the system is used on a daily basis, the more carbon footprint the user actively saves. (This differs from "Passive Green" products, which use green-friendly production processes, but their products are not inherently helping the consumers save on their daily footprint.)

As added incentive to take the challenge, Sodastream will be raffling off a home soda to one of the area participants.
