SourceMedia's Mortgage Technology Magazine Annual Awards Call for Entries

Industry Leaders Encouraged to Submit Nomination -- New Category Introduced

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 31, 2006 -- SourceMedia's Mortgage Technology Magazine 2006 annual awards are now accepting nominations through June 30, 2006. These awards, inaugurated in 2000, were products of SourceMedia's Mortgage Group's editorial directors' desire to expand their annual "Dream Team" of worthy mortgage professionals. They are presented to companies or individuals who demonstrate leadership and/or have changed the landscape of how the mortgage technology industry conducts business. The nomination form is accessible through Mortgage Technology's Web site at www.mortgage-technology.com/awards.

According to Mark Fogarty, editorial director of Mortgage Technology, and Scott Kersnar, editor, they want to recognize individuals and/or companies that are setting the pace and are leaders in their fields. The awards are presented at a ceremony hosted by SourceMedia's Mortgage Group during the MBA Annual Conference. Fogarty and Kersnar agree -- organizing an awards contest helps sharpen their perception of practical excellence in mortgage technology. They believe the benefit for them (and the publication) is in acquiring the knowledge to write better articles for their readers.

Kersnar said, "We asked mortgage professionals some basic questions: How does technology really help mortgage lenders do things better, faster and cheaper? What constitutes useful technology tools? Which tools break logjams in creating and handling mortgages? We wanted awards that were more in line with baseball's Golden Glove Award for excellence in fielding. Though not every player or fan may agree with each year's winners, they understand the criteria for selection; they know which fielding positions require the most skill."

For 2006, a new award category was created -- The Release of the Year Award, recognizing a technology product, platform, alliance or initiative that will have the broadest impact on mortgage lending going forward. Other award categories include The 10X Award, The Fix-It Award, The Help Desk Award, The Lasting Impact Award, The Steve Fraser Award and The Synergy Award.

2005 award recipients include Advectis, winner of the Fix-it Award; No Red Tape, the Outstanding Mortgage Website award; Wellfound Decade, the 10X award; Dynatek, the Help Desk award; Scott Happ, Mortgagebot, the Lasting Impact award; Ruth Thompson, Desert Docs, the Steve Fraser award; and Prime Alliance, the Synergy award.

Blake Scheifele, president and founder of No Red Tape Mortgage, said, "Everyone at No Red Tape is fully invested in the success of our Website, so winning Mortgage Technology's Website Award was a huge validation for the company's hard work and effort. As we continue to provide brokers with an easy-to-use experience, we are honored by such recognition within the mortgage community. We look forward to submitting future nominations."

"The 2006 awards will be more competitive than last year," Fogarty said. "The quality of information we receive is phenomenal and becoming more and more innovative. We have been able to garner at least twelve topics for future editorials from industry leaders and that can only strengthen the quality of our printed publications."

All mortgage industry professionals and companies are encouraged to submit a nomination form with supplementary documentation through the Mortgage Technology Web site, www.mortgage-technology.com/awards. Faxed and/or print entries will not be accepted.
