Southampton Appoints Paul Gorman as President, CEO and Director

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 25, 2008) - Southampton Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SV) ("Southampton") is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Gorman as President, CEO and Director of the Company.

Mr. Gorman is a corporate specialist with experience in growth-emerging public companies, especially in the junior mining sector where he has held senior management and director roles. Most recently, Paul was CEO and director of Yukon Gold Corporation, a TSX listed company with late stage properties in Northern Canada. For the last 8 years, Paul has been the President and Managing Partner of Riverbank Communications Inc., a Corporate Relations firm working with micro-cap companies to assist them in developing well-defined marketing programs. Paul's responsibilities have also included raising capital totaling in excess of $55 million as well as promoting the companies to the investment community and writing strategic plans for business growth.

In conjunction with Mr. Gorman's appointment, Mr. Richard Patricio has resigned his roles as President and CEO. Mr. Patricio will continue with the Company as Corporate Secretary. Mr. Patricio stated, "We are delighted to have Paul join the Company bringing his wealth of experience and commitment to Southampton. Coincident with Mr. Gorman's appointment, he has been granted an option to purchase 400,000 shares of Southampton exercisable over a five-year period expiring January 24, 2013, at a price of $1.00 per share.

The appointment of Mr. Gorman and grant of stock options are subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
