Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited Completes C$ 7.6 Million Capital Raising with Euroz Securities Limited

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 18, 2009) - Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited (TSX VENTURE:SH) is pleased to report that Euroz Securities Limited has successfully completed the raising of A$8 million to be applied to completing the definitive feasibility study of the Los Pumas Manganese Project in the north of Chile and to conduct a targeted exploration program on selected Company owned copper projects in Chile.

A total of 32 million shares were issued at A$0.25 per share. The shares will trade on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as CHESS Depository Interests (CDI's). CHESS is the Clearing House Electronic Subregister System. This is the computerised system for the electronic transfer of uncertificated securities through the ASX's wholly owned subsidiary, ASX Settlement and Transfer Corporation Pty Ltd. The CDI's will be listed on the ASX. Each CDI ranks equally with each Southern Hemisphere Mining ordinary share listed on the TSX,V. It is anticipated that Southern Hemisphere Mining will list of the ASX in early January 2010 and will trade under the ASX symbol SUH.

Southern Hemisphere Mining is drilling the promising Los Pumas Manganese Project and to date has completed 6,300 m of RC drilling This program is continuing on a 50m spacing. A core drilling program of 32 holes for 630m has been completed and core samples submitted for dense media separation test work.
