The Blue Cross RiverRink's convenient location on Columbus Boulevard at Market Street will be the perfect place to view the Midnight fireworks over the Delaware River. December 31, 2007 will end in sparkling delight, as Philadelphia's annual free New Year's Eve fireworks show at Penn's Landing, presented by the City of Philadelphia, continues the tradition of ringing in the year with a bang! Since 1991, fireworks on New Year's Eve have become a tradition at Penn's Landing, and now thousands of people visit Penn's Landing to watch the fireworks display and celebrate at the New Year's Eve Party on Ice from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Seen easily along Philadelphia's waterfront at Penn's Landing at Midnight, this year's production will weave a tapestry of color choreographed to music. The overall music track will be simulcast on KYW Newsradio 1060 and KYW-HD and is scored to evoke anticipation and fun. The fireworks will also be broadcast live on CBS 3 for television viewers.

Fireworks are free, courtesy of the City of Philadelphia, the Penn's Landing Corporation and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation. "The fireworks are such a wonderful, family-friendly, FREE, Philadelphia tradition that I cannot imagine New Year's Eve in Philly without them," said Mayor John F. Street. Tickets to the Party on Ice, presented by the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company, are only $30 for skaters and $20 for spectators. Skater tickets are sold out and limited spectator tickets are available for purchase at the Blue Cross RiverRink during regular business hours. Entertainment will include free psychic readers and strolling entertainment by Mummertime.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health will be at Penn's Landing on New Year's Eve collecting signatures from those who are "determined to quit" tobacco in 2008. This event is part of the Department's ongoing statewide tobacco cessation initiative.
