Sparton to Present at International Atomic Energy Agency Meeting on Unconventional Uranium Sources

Sparton Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SRI) (the "Company") is pleased to report that it has been invited, and nominated by the Government of Canada, to speak at the International Atomic Energy Agency's Technical Meeting on Uranium from Unconventional Resources. The talks are being held at the Agency's headquarters in Vienna, Austria from November 4-6th, 2009. At this workshop an international group of specialists will present papers on a wide variety of issues related to unconventional uranium sources, extraction technologies and potential supply.

Company President, A. Lee Barker, will attend and present a paper entitled Secondary Sources of Uranium in China- Sparton's Programs and Progress. The paper will be outlining the historic relationship and agreement between Sparton and the China National Nuclear Corporation ("CNNC") to evaluate the possibility of commercial extraction of uranium from domestic non conventional sources such as coal ash and phosphate rock, mine waste, and other unconventional uranium sources in China. Sparton through its local operating structure in China is currently the only foreign company permitted to produce uranium from any source in PRC.

China is the world's largest generator of electricity from thermal coal power plants and is in the process of building a large number of nuclear plants to meet its growing energy needs.

Through its subsidiary Sparton Energy, the Company is a specialty metals producer in China where it controls the Huajun mine, a germanium/coal operation which generates high uranium content waste coal ash. The secondary uranium recovery programs in China are being operated through a 70% owned joint venture company with CNNC (30%) which is presently at the bulk test stage in developing a uranium recovery program from waste ash in the Huajun germanium producing area. The Company currently has several other secondary source or unconventional source uranium programs underway in China, Canada and Europe.
