Staccato Gold Appoints Exploration Manager

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 23, 2007) - Staccato Gold Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Morris, M.Sc., to the position of Senior Exploration Manager. Mr. Morris is based in Elko, Nevada and has been working on a consulting basis with Staccato since February 2007. With over 25 years of field experience, Mr. Morris has a successful track record in generating and conducting exploration programs for gold and other commodities primarily in Nevada and Alaska. His career includes work with several major and junior companies including Placer Dome, North American Gold and thirteen years with Barrick Gold. Mr. Morris has extensive experience with Staccato's South Eureka project, garnered over the past year on a consulting basis with Staccato and previously as the exploration geologist responsible for the South Eureka district with Barrick Gold.

Mr. Morris holds a B.Sc. in geology from Fort Lewis College, Colorado and an M.Sc. in Geographic Information Systems from Manchester Metropolitan University, U.K.
