Stickam Launches PayPerLive Community Platform, Giving Fans Inside Access to Favorite Artists

Artists, Musicians and Entertainers Can Host Events, Reach Community of Fans and Generate Revenue With New Live Streaming Service

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 2, 2009) - Stickam.com, the pioneer of live streaming video and the largest live community on the Internet, today introduced the beta version of its community platform, a new level of PayPerLive that enables artists to construct fan networks under their own domain names. The platform allows entertainers to leverage fans for promotions and create a revenue stream from live chats, premium videos, exclusive online concerts and other paid events.

Building on Stickam.com's PayPerLive service, the community platform creates a personalized fan-based community that gives users access to everything from live chats to premium concert viewings, all powered by Stickam.com's back-end technology.

The first artist to utilize Stickam.com's community platform is thenewno2, an alternative rock band led by Dhani Harrison. With Harrison's involvement in "The Beatles: Rock Band" music video game, as well as the band's current first-ever North American tour with Wolfmother, thenewno2 was looking for a way to interact directly with fans looking to stay updated on current and future events.

"We are excited to get to be a part of this," said Dhani Harrison, singer / multi-instrumentalist for thenewno2. "Stickam's concept lets us create something that's all our own to give to our fans. It's a new kind of platform for us to share our vision that is really relevant to today's audiences, and it gives us another way to reach people."

On top PayPerLive's ticketing system for live events, the community platform also allows artists to offer subscription-based access for fans, providing different levels of content based on their preference. The host has the option of providing their community site as a 'freemium' (free plus premium) or premium service only. There are a number of options hosts can explore to set the premium subscriptions.

"We have our fingers on the pulse of the evolving music industry and are excited to be at the forefront of this change with the launch of the community platform, which helps musicians and entertainers alike reach their fans and sustain their art with a hassle-free service," said Steven Fruchter, CEO of Stickam.com. "Fans are able to become part of a community that their favorite acts create just for them. By implementing the site, artists can interact with their fans in a more intimate and controlled way -- providing a new outlet for the music industry in the digital millennium age."

The community platform will soon extend beyond the entertainment industry to cater to the education space by supporting online classes and how-to guides. The next version of the platform will also offer video on demand, fan forums, widgets and a points system for fans to buy and redeem various items through the sites.

About thenewno2:

Using a unique and innovative combination of digital beats, heavy guitars and an arsenal of studio confectionary, the band creates an eerie sound terrain on their debut YOU ARE HERE; the 15 swaggering tracks play like a news ticker scrolling across the cultural landscape. Created in London and Los Angeles and heavily influenced by the darkness of the world outside, YOU ARE HERE filters apocalyptic dread, so that by the end, light shoots through the cracks, and the only answer is hope.

thenewno2's sets at this year's Coachella and Lollapalooza festivals were received with shining accolades. The band is about to embark on their first-ever North American tour, in support of Australian rock band Wolfmother. The tour kicks off October 29th at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX. A triumphant residency at Los Angeles' Key Club drew at-capacity crowds thanks to critical acclaim and enthusiastic word of mouth. Singer/multi-instrumentalist Dhani Harrison has graced the pages of Rolling Stone multiple times including the magazine's Hot Issue. The band appeared as one of the final guests on the Late Show with Conan O'Brien in February. thenewno2 is joined for live shows by Jonathan Sadoff on keyboards/guitar/vocals, Jeremy Faccone on guitar/vocals, Nick Fyffe on bass and Frank Zummo on drums.
