Stockgroup Adds Industry Analyst as Director of Capital Markets

Mr. Gear has more than 24 years of experience in the securities industry in a variety of capacities which include serving as Executive Vice President of Mercantile Investment Services Inc., the Broker/Dealer subsidiary of Mercantile Bancorporation Inc. Since 1992, Mr. Gear has held various positions, primarily in institutional sales and as an analyst focused on small capitalization equity issues. He has maintained a special focus on software and internet companies since 1998 and has issued research coverage on companies such as MapInfo (Nasdaq: MAPS), Hoovers (Nasdaq: HOOV) and Pinnacor (Nasdaq: PCOR). Mr. Gear has a degree from the University of Mississippi. He also attended the Securities Industry Institute at the University of Pennsylvania's Aresty Institute for Executive Education.
