Strait Gold Appoints Weston as Vice President Exploration

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 15, 2008) - James Borland, President of Strait Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE:SRD), is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Weston, MSc., PGeo., to the position of Vice-President Exploration.

Mr. Weston has served as Exploration Manager for the Company since mid-2006. He brings to the company a broad background in the exploration of hydrothermal systems including epithermal, VMS, porphyry copper and archean lode gold deposits. He has experience working in Peru, Western Australia, Nevada, Red Lake, Mexico and Newfoundland.
