Strike Up the Oompah Band; Saint Arnold to Re-Introduce Oktoberfest Seasonal

Grammy Award Winner Brave Combo to Headline Brewery's Fifth Annual Oktoberfest Celebration

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 28, 2006 -- The thermometer may be screaming "summer," but Saint Arnold Brewing Company is forecasting a refreshing cooling trend. Saint Arnold Brewing, the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is preparing to re-introduce its award-winning Saint Arnold Oktoberfest seasonal.

One of Saint Arnold Brewing's five seasonal beers, Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is true to the Oktoberfest tradition, blending three different types of Munich-style malt to provide a rich caramel flavor and using two central European noble hop varieties: Czech Saaz and Tettnanger. It is a full-bodied, malty, slightly sweet beer that pours a reddish-amber color.

"The annual introduction of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest signals that fall is upon us, no matter what the meteorologists say," said Brock Wagner, founder of Saint Arnold Brewing Company, which is the oldest microbrewery in Texas. "Because the Oktoberfest celebration revolves around good-tasting, full-flavored beer, the annual re-introduction of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is eagerly anticipated throughout Texas."

Saint Arnold Oktoberfest was introduced into the brewery's rotation of seasonal offerings in 1997 and has been judged among America's best. It was recognized with the Bronze Medal in the Scottish Ale category at the Great American Beer Festival in both 2001 and 2000.

Beginning Sept. 1, 2006, Saint Arnold Oktoberfest will be available on tap and in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs and cases. It will be available throughout Texas at grocery and liquor stores, bars and restaurants.

Saint Arnold Brewing also has announced that October 13 and 14 are the dates for its fifth annual Oktoberfest celebration at the brewery. The event will run from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. each night. Headlining this year's Oktoberfest will be two-time Grammy Award winner and highly danceable Brave Combo, which boasts a repertoire that includes polka, waltz, mambo, two-step, merengue, ska, stroll, foxtrot, Muzak, twist, ondo, tango, bossa nova, zydeco and rock.

The cost to attend Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is $45. Only 200 tickets will be available each night, so making reservations early is a must. Call 713-686-9494 and ask for Ann. A high-resolution photo is available for download at bottle.jpg.
