Suncor Energy introduces new way to keep in touch

Calgary, Alberta (April 18, 2006) — More than 100,000 of Suncor Energy's stakeholders will receive a new community newsletter called Suncor Energy In Your Community. The newsletter provides regional stakeholders in Canada and the United States with regular updates about company operations, plans for growth, and community investments.

"Our stakeholders have told us they want more information about our activities in their communities," said Sue Lee, senior vice president of human resources and communications. "This is one more way that we will keep in touch with our neighbors."

The newsletter will be published twice each year. There are different editions customized to meet the information needs of stakeholders in the company's five operating areas including:
• Oil Sands (Alberta)
• Sarnia-Lambton (Ontario)
• Suncor Energy U.S.A. (Colorado)
• Renewable Energy (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario)
• Natural Gas (Alberta, British Columbia)

Suncor Energy In Your Community is a recent addition to Suncor's suite of stakeholder relations activities that includes consultation, community investment, business development and employee voluntarism. "These activities support our vision to become a sustainable energy company by helping to earn the consent of stakeholders to operate and grow our business," said Lee.
