SupportSoft Reveals Techniques for Best Set-Top Box Management at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - October 8, 2007) - SupportSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPRT), a leading provider of technology problem resolution software and services, will discuss at next week's Broadband World Forum Europe how more effective Set-Top Box management is the key to delivering better quality of experience for customers. Andrew Keevil, director of service provider marketing at SupportSoft, will lead a panel of industry experts at Broadband World Forum in Berlin on 11 October 2007 in discussing how crucial the set-top box is becoming in broadband service delivery, particularly as the content available grows and diversifies.

New forms of content are being inspired by developments such as video over broadband and IPTV. The set-top box, rather than simply being a way for end-users to view and select television channels, is becoming the center of a new way to consumer entertainment. At the same time, new standards such as DSL Forum's TR-106 have created the opportunity for hardware vendors and management system providers to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Panel members will examine how service providers can achieve strategic competitive advantage by offering differentiated service in the face of competition from other delivery methods. This leads to reduced customer churn and contributes to cost savings from more efficient and effective resolution of technical problems.

They will each draw on their experiences with real deployments to demonstrate how better quality of service through effective Set-Top Box management is good business value for service providers. It is a value that comes from easy enablement of new service revenues, decreased customer churn and cost savings from significantly lower numbers of technical problems.

The Broadband World Forum Europe conference and exhibition will examine broadband technology developments, challenges, services, and applications with particular emphasis on the European market. This four-day event will feature top industry executives sharing their real-world experiences and offering the latest perspectives on broadband content, entertainment, access strategies, service management, and integration.
