Supreme Court of British Columbia Rules in Favour of Adroit in Expropriation Case, Awards Compensation

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 25, 2009) - Adroit Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ADT)(FRANKFURT:A7V)(BERLIN:A7V) -

In a judgment handed down on June 24, 2009, the Supreme Court of British Columbia ordered the Provincial Government of British Columbia to pay to Adroit the sum of $603,633 as compensation for the July, 1995 expropriation of the "Amber" mineral claims. In addition, the Court ordered the Government to pay Adroit's legal costs and to pay interest on the monetary award from July, 1995 to the present at the "banker's prime rate to the government to be calculated as compound interest". The Company has not yet calculated costs and interest, but the total award is estimated to be well in excess of $1,400,000.

In July, 1995, the B.C. Government expropriated the "Amber" claims from the Company for the creation of a provincial park. The Company subsequently sought compensation for such expropriation through the courts. On June 5, 2003, the Company received a four to one judgment in its favour from the British Columbia Court of Appeal. The Court of Appeal ordered that the amount of compensation payable to the Company be determined by the Expropriation Compensation Board of British Columbia. The British Columbia Government subsequently applied to the Supreme Court of Canada to have the Court of Appeal's ruling overturned. The Supreme Court of Canada dismissed the Government's application on April 8, 2004.

The Company subsequently commenced negotiations with the B.C. Government for a monetary settlement, but did not receive an acceptable offer from the Government. In the interim, the Province of British Columbia has amended expropriation legislation, abolishing the Expropriation Board and providing that expropriation proceedings were to be dealt with before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. The Company therefore instructed its corporate counsel, Holmes & King, to assume conduct of the file to pursue the quantum claim.

A four week trial was held in January and February, 2009. The judgment in favour of the Company is the result of that litigation. A copy of the Reasons for Judgment will be available on the Supreme Court website within the next few days. Any appeal from that judgment must be filed within 30 days. Further details of the Company's expropriation claim against the Government are on the Company's web site:
