SurfControl Forms Global Channel Partner Advisory Council

Global Leader in Internet Threat Protection Briefs Key Partners on Product Enhancements and Commits to Align Channel Program With Their Business Objectives

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 1, 2006 -- SurfControl (LSE: SRF), the leading provider of global on-demand, network and endpoint IT security solutions, today announced it has formed a global Partner Advisory Council (PAC). The PAC conferences, which will meet twice yearly, allow SurfControl to share the latest developments in its Internet security solutions and gain input to better align its partner programs with partners' business objectives. The PAC includes approximately 125 channel partners worldwide.

"While SurfControl has long been committed to the channel, we recognize the need to raise our level of partnership, making it easier for our partners to do business with us," said David Harris, vice president, Worldwide Channel Sales for SurfControl. "We are using this forum as a means to brief our partners on upcoming solution enhancements, as well as giving them insight into the company's future product roadmap following the acquisition of BlackSpider. This is also an important way for us to share impending developments to the SurfControl partner program that will further enhance its value."

Some of the key areas highlighted by the PAC include:

-- Rules of engagement
-- Deal registration
-- Early notification of product announcements
-- Product support
-- Training
-- Margin
-- Marketing

Acting on the PAC's recommendations, SurfControl is already taking steps to address many of these issues. Amongst the measures currently being implemented to compliment our commitment to 100% channel driven sales are improvements to SurfControl's STAR Certification program, delivery of an enhanced partner portal, and free 24/7 live technical support for trained VARs.

"An example of this commitment to the channel is our 105% promise to partners," added Harris. "We're putting our money where our mouth is. SurfControl promises not to take business from our channel partners, and if we do, then we'll pay them 105%. That's how firmly we believe in protecting those relationships."

"We are pleased to be a part of SurfControl's Partner Advisory Council because it demonstrates their willingness to stay tuned to the needs of their channel partners," stated Mike Menegay, vice president, Security and Professional Services for En Pointe Technologies. "In taking input from their top channel partners, SurfControl has demonstrated a commitment to define and refine their programs in order to make them more effective for their partners. This type of frank discussion adds real value to our relationship with SurfControl, and we applaud the collaboration."
