TBS International Limited Announces the Acquisition of Two Handysize Bulk Carriers, Expanding Its Fleet to 39 Vessels


HAMILTON, BERMUDA--(Marketwire - October 31, 2007) - TBS International Limited (NASDAQ: TBSI) announced today that it has entered into agreements to acquire two handysize bulk carriers, the M.V. Ypermachos and the M.V. Diasozousa. TBS has agreed to acquire these vessels charter free for $26.0 million each and they are expected to be delivered to the Company between mid-January and mid-March 2008.

Both the M.V. Ypermachos and the M.V. Diasozousa are 1984 built handysize bulk carriers of 28,166 dwt and 28,074 dwt respectively.

Following these acquisitions TBS' fleet will comprise 39 vessels in total, with an aggregate of 1,158,820 dwt, including 20 multipurpose tweendeckers and a combination of 19 handysize and handymax bulk carriers.
