TOWN HALL Los Angeles Members to Tour "Mummies of the World" Exhibit First

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - June 18, 2010) -  TOWN HALL Los Angeles members have a unique opportunity to participate in the world debut of "Mummies of the World" at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on July 1, 2010. Beginning its three-year tour in Los Angeles, the exhibition is the largest traveling exhibition of mummies and related artifacts ever assembled. For enquiries on this exclusive tour and how to join TOWN HALL, call 213.628.8141 or visit

"Mummies of the World" includes state-of-the-art interactive stations, more than 40 partial and complete human and animal mummies -- some dating back nearly 6,500 years -- from Egypt, Oceania, Asia, Europe and South America. Also featured will be more than 90 related artifacts, from Egyptian and South American burial objects to fragments of the Book of the Dead. Scientific tools including Computer Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, DNA analysis, drug and stable isotope analysis, and radiometric dating were used in the research of the exhibition.

After touring the exhibit, TOWN HALL members will take part in an exclusive briefing with the mummy experts. Jimmy Delay, Vice President of AEI, and/or Dr. Heather Gill-Frerking, Director of science and education for the exhibition, will be speaking to the group.

Additional Behind-the-Scenes tours enjoyed by TOWN HALL members include the Getty Center, Caltech Seismological Laboratory, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Northrop Grumman's F-18 manufacturing assembly line and The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens. On June 30, members will have a private tour of the new LAPD Police Administration Building.
