April 13, 2010 06:00 ET Participates in Mayor Newsom's JOBS NOW! SF Program

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 13, 2010) -, a leading social network, is proud to participate in San Francisco's JOBS NOW! program to find qualified candidates to fill the company's job openings in technology, product management and human resources. JOBS NOW!, backed by Mayor Gavin Newsom and administered by the Human Services Agency of the City of San Francisco, is designed to use federal stimulus dollars to pay 100 percent of employee wages, excluding benefits and overtime, for qualified new employees hired through the program.

"Tagged has deep roots in San Francisco, the city where we established the company in 2004. We are eager to help stimulate the local economy by filling jobs with qualified candidates who are right in our back yard," said Greg Tseng, Founder and CEO of Tagged.

"We are delighted that Tagged has chosen to create new jobs in San Francisco through JOBS NOW!," said San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. "Tagged's decision proves that cutting-edge tech companies are leveraging this powerful incentive program to grow their business and hire San Franciscans. We are proud to call them a San Francisco company."

Under the JOBS NOW! program, the City, companies and non-profit organizations have employed over 2,110 San Franciscans since May 2009. A year-long extension of the JOBS NOW! program has been approved by the House of Representatives and is awaiting approval of the Senate.

Consistent with the goals of the federal stimulus package, the primary objectives of the JOBS NOW! program are to provide employment and an immediate source of income for low-income families and those who have suffered from the economic downturn of the past year, as well as to stimulate local economic recovery. JOBS NOW! builds upon several successful transitional jobs programs already in place at SF-HSA, which were designed to help unemployed individuals address barriers to employment, develop soft skills, gain work experience and progress toward self-sufficiency. JOBS NOW! participants will exit the program with stable employment history, leaving them better positioned to obtain an unsubsidized job when the stimulus period ends. The JOBS NOW! program benefits local employers by providing referrals of qualified workers and by subsidizing 100% of their wages until September 30, 2010.
