Tale of Two Campaigns: McGuinty Launches Clearest "Neg" Ad Yet

KAPUSKASING, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2007) - After making a fuss about staying positive and using McGuinty in their ads - the McGuinty campaign is burying McGuinty himself.

McGuinty's new ad isn't on his website:

But it is on the air - and McGuinty isn't in it:

Earlier in the campaign McGuinty claimed he would be the only star of his ads:

"I'm in my ads. I want to talk about my policies and where we want to go and where we need to go as a province." - Dalton McGuinty, Canadian Press, September 19, 2007

"I think according to traditional U.S. campaign lore, if you're in the other guy's ad, it's a negative campaign." - Dalton McGuinty, Sun Media, September 20, 2007

"I'm not really comfortable with the negative stuff." - Dalton McGuinty, Canadian Press, 12 September 2007

Dalton McGuinty has been disingenuous about the campaign they are running. He has chided Howard Hampton in the leaders' debate saying "I can't be nearly as negative as my colleagues," and then run an attack website "NDP4Tory" on a site that nowhere bears the Liberal logo or an image of McGuinty.

In exchange for four years as a government, ordinary Ontarians expect to Dalton McGuinty to defend his record. But instead he ducks his broken promises by attacking others.

So, how are ordinary Ontarians supposed to make sure Dalton McGuinty doesn't let them down again? Vote NDP, that's how.
