The Taylor Printing Group Inc. Becomes the First bullfrogpowered® Printing Company in the Maritimes

New Brunswick Business Helps Take Action on Climate Change by Choosing 100 Per Cent Clean, Renewable Electricity With Bullfrog Power®

FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) - In an industry known for resource consumption, the Taylor Printing Group Inc. is helping take action on climate change by bullfrogpowering its printing facilities with 100 per cent clean, renewable electricity. Committed to creating a sustainable environment for future generations, the Taylor Printing Group Inc. is choosing Bullfrog Power to complement its existing environmental programs. Each year, the company will reduce its carbon emissions footprint by greening approximately 270 MWh of electricity.

"We signed on with Bullfrog Power because it's a practical way to reduce our environmental impact as a company," said Scott Williams, New Business Development, Taylor Printing Group Inc. "We realize that our industry is a large contributor to carbon emissions and supporting clean, emissions-free energy is an easy way help address climate change."

Through the agreement, Bullfrog's Maritime generators inject renewable electricity into the regional grid to match the amount of power the Taylor Printing Group Inc. uses. In the Maritime provinces, Bullfrog sources from wind farms and low-impact hydro facilities in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. Bullfrog Power launched in the Maritimes in the fall of 2009 and provides all homes and businesses in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island with a renewable electricity choice. The organization's goal is to advance the development of wind power throughout the Maritimes.

In addition to choosing 100 per cent renewable electricity, the Taylor Printing Group Inc. is involved in a number of environmental initiatives related to greening its printing processes. In 2007, the organization became the first printing company in New Brunswick to receive certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Canada, an international certification and labeling system that guarantees forest products come from responsibly managed forests and recycled sources.

"We replaced all of our pre-press equipment in 2007, allowing us to convert to a chemical-free printing process," said Williams. "We use vegetable-based inks and recycle all paper waste, which amounts to over 150,000 lbs each year. Our leading edge press technology has also allowed us to reduce set up time, which has resulted in a further 35 per cent reduction in paper consumption."

"We're very excited to have the Taylor Printing Group Inc. as the first bullfrogpowered printing company in the Maritimes," said Holly Bond, Director, Eastern Region, Bullfrog Power. "Through its commitment to green electricity, the Taylor Printing Group Inc. is sending a strong message to Maritime businesses that there are practical ways to support renewable energy in Canada."
