Technology Association of Iowa Announces the Heartland GreenUp Symposium and Expo: A National Event to Address Green Technologies

HP CIO Randy Mott to Keynote Event; Conference First-of-Its-Kind to Focus on Information Technologies That Are Spearheading Green Revolution

DES MOINES, IA--(Marketwire - December 14, 2009) - The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI), the voice of Iowa's technology industry, today announced that they are presenting The Heartland GreenUp Symposium and Expo, a first-of-its-kind conference that will include speakers and industry luminaries from across the country discussing how technology is impacting the "green" revolution in multiple industries. Keynoting the event is Randy Mott, executive vice-president and chief information officer at HP. The event will include four tracks, 12 speaking sessions and three keynote addresses over the course of the conference, which is scheduled for May 5, 2010.

"Iowa is very excited to be one the first venues for an industry conference focusing specifically on how information technology is affecting the green revolution," said Leann Jacobson, president of the Technology Association of Iowa. "Our goal is to bring the discussion from the coasts to the heartland. Through public and private efforts, our state is at the epicenter of using technology to reduce our carbon footprint and felt it would provide the perfect platform to host an industry conference addressing how technology is impacting not just our nation, but planet when it comes to energy efficiency."

The Heartland GreenUp Symposium & Expo will promote awareness of and best practices in reducing overall energy consumption and carbon footprints in information technology. This premiere event provides a forum to discover and share new, innovative green products and services.

Call for Speakers:

Interested speakers and panelists are encouraged to submit a speaking abstract by visiting the event's home page. Submissions will be accepted through January 13, 2010.

Conference Tracks:

The conference will include four speaking tracks, with three breakout sessions within each track. Tracks include:

Track 1: Green computing

Track 2: Renewable energy solutions

Track 3: Public and private green IT initiatives

Track 4: 20/20: Technology's future impact on society in 2020

Attendee cost: $199 per person (Early Bird discount before 3/1/2010)
