Tempo Powers Arthritis Foundation Debit Cards

Organization Benefits With Every Purchase Made Using Affinity Debit Card

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - December 1, 2009) - Tempo announced today that the Arthritis Foundation, the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world, is the latest organization to offer its members and contributors an affinity debit card powered by Tempo.

Every time Arthritis Foundation debit cards are used to make a purchase, the organization will receive a portion of standard card transaction fees. The cards can be used anywhere Debit MasterCard cards are accepted and also provide cash-back and ATM withdrawal access to the cardholders' existing checking accounts.

"This is a great opportunity for supporters of the Arthritis Foundation to generate additional contributions by leveraging their everyday purchasing power," said Scott Walters, Arthritis Foundation group vice president for corporate relations. "We encourage everyone who shares our vision of a world free from arthritis pain to take advantage of this new avenue to support the mission of the Arthritis Foundation."

Other non-profits that are offering Tempo-powered affinity debit card programs include the Breast Cancer Fund, Greenpeace and Surfrider Foundation.

Tempo technology makes it easy for organizations to offer affinity debit cards and provides a web portal for consumers to apply for and activate cards, as well as track purchases and rewards. The cards are issued by Tempo partner First Bank & Trust of Brookings, SD, part of Fishback Financial Corporation.

"Affinity debit cards represent a new fund-raising option for non-profit organizations," said Tempo CEO Mike Grossman. "Tempo's Web-based platform makes it possible to tailor affinity debit to groups large and small, because our unique software-as-a-service technology removes much of the traditional cost associated with affinity credit card programs."

Tempo-enabled debit cards are affinity partner-branded, generate valuable cardholder rewards, and can be used for online and offline purchases and ATM withdrawals. Working with First Bank & Trust, Tempo manages all aspects of card issuance, including risk management, application processing, card fulfillment, authorization and settlement.
