Temtec Launches Executive Viewer® 6.0

New Version Provides an Enhanced and Extended Infrastructure

DEN BOSCH, THE NETHERLANDS -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 17, 2005 -- Temtec, a leading provider of intuitive self-service analysis and reporting software for business intelligence, today announced a new release of Executive Viewer, its powerful yet user friendly front-end OLAP business intelligence tool. Version 6.0 provides a significantly enhanced and extended infrastructure, with new features that include: Executive Viewer repository, service oriented architecture, open security model and an extendable logging interface.

Key changes in Executive Viewer 6.0:

Executive Viewer Repository:

The Executive Viewer repository provides a central location where the Executive Viewer server can model and store configuration-related items such as folders, server definitions, data sources, databases, views and images. The repository increases flexibility for both users and administrators and plays a key role in allowing companies to move towards role-based distribution of business intelligence. Users can be given granular rights on any item in a folder (create, delete, modify, read, list). Views can be organized into a hierarchy of folders and the hierarchy can then be used to dynamically associate data sources with reports.

Service Oriented Architecture:

A new server API which is available as a web service has been introduced to provide management and runtime services for software developed by Temtec, corporate developers and OEM partners. The use of industry standards ensures interoperability across a wide range of platforms. The server API allows any authorized process or application to interact with the Executive Viewer server.

Open Security Model:

The Executive Viewer open security model has been developed to support the complex authentication schemes demanded by enterprise customers with large deployments. With version 6.0, the Executive Viewer server can obtain, validate and use credentials when needed, enabling single sign-on in a secure environment.

Extendable Logging Interface:

The log provider enables fine-grained logging by category, provider and service level. Both passive logging and active notification (for example an SMS message to a mobile phone) are supported.
