Tentative settlement reached between Suncor Energy (USA) Inc. and USW Local 12-477

Denver, Colorado (January 26, 2006) — Suncor Energy (USA) Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suncor Energy Inc., and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International (USW) Union (Local12-477) have reached a tentative agreement to merge the refinery's East Plant (former Valero refinery) workers into the existing collective bargaining agreement at Suncor's Commerce City Refinery.

The USW's Bargaining Committees, the International Representative, and the Local President have agreed to unanimously recommend ratification of the terms of the settlement to the membership. A ratification vote is expected within one week.
