Tequila Rose Kicks Off Effort With Bomshel and Wicked Women Choppers in Detroit to Raise Money for Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute

DETROIT, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 11, 2006 -- Tequila Rose, a strawberry flavored cream with a splash of premium tequila, kicked off an effort October 7, 2006 at the DTE Music Theatre in suburban Detroit, to raise funds for the Detroit-based and nationally renowned Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The effort is a promotion with Kristie O and Buffy Lawson, more commonly known as the country and western duo Bomshel, through the auction of a custom-made Wicked Women Chopper, a motorcycle made for women.

The kickoff has been timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Bomshel officially autographed the Tequila Rose Wicked Women's Chopper during a brief ceremony at DTE Theater prior to their concert. Early next year, the $50,000 Women's Chopper will be auctioned off on eBay with proceeds going to Karmanos.

Bomshel, who are touring the country this Fall, has recorded a number of songs including "Be Yourself," "Scratch," "The One That Got Away," and the "Bomshel Stomp." The duo are known for high energy shows and performances with Buffy Lawson providing an emotive, take no prisoners vocals and Kristie O an athletic and electrifying fiddler. Together, the combo provides their audience, especially women with an unforgettable performance.

Vic Morrison, vice president of marketing for McCormick Distilling Company, based in Weston, MO, near Kansas City, the oldest continually operating distiller west of the Mississippi and makers of Tequila Rose, said his company is sponsoring the promotion to coincide with the introduction of two new flavors, Tequila Rose Cocoa and Tequila Rose Java.

"This is a great way for our company to give back to the community and help the Karmanos Cancer Institute," Morrison said.

Bomshel plans to invite a variety of top country and western singing stars, who they will be opening for at concerts during the coming months, to autograph the Wicked Women Chopper.

"We are pleased to participate in this promotion, and we are excited that the effort is being kicked off during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October," explained Clifford W. Crabtree, Rph, MBA, vice president operations for Karmanos who participated in the kick off ceremony.
