TeraXion Introduces a New Compact Tunable Dispersion Compensation Module

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 8, 2009) - TeraXion Inc., a leader in performance-defining OEM products for the generation and conditioning of light signals in mission-critical applications of Telecom, Defense/Aerospace and Industrial/Energy markets, proudly announces the introduction of the ClearSpectrum™-TDCMX, the industry's smallest tunable dispersion compensation module.

This new innovative ready-to-use module integrates electronics and an optical circulator in a 130 x 22 x 14 mm housing, which is half the footprint of other technologies. In rapidly growing optical communication market segments such as 40 Gb/s and submarine networks, miniaturization is essential; the TDCMX exceeds carriers' expectations with regards to size and optical performance. This major size reduction was only possible through TeraXion's well-established and reliable FBG technology, mastering the unique advantage of an amazingly simple and robust design.

The ClearSpectrum™-TDCMX will consolidate TeraXion's position as the market leader when it comes to dispersion management solutions. Worldwide system vendors and carriers already trust the company's TDC volume manufacturing capabilities and dedication to bring novel and integrated solutions to address their clients' current and future needs.

"Thanks to its compactness and its embedded channel selector, the ClearSpectrum™-TDCMX serves as the ideal option to optimize dispersion in a link for any channels, regardless of the channel plan as it combines a large dispersion tuning range to a wide bandwidth and low PMD", stated Martin Guy, Vice-President Product Management and Technology at TeraXion. System flexibility is advantageously increased, enabling DWDM systems to reach higher operation speeds with improved design margins. The new tunable compensation dispersion module is therefore the perfect dispersion management solution for 40 Gb/s applications or submarine networks where footprint, accuracy and reliability are critical.

Witness the power of small: the ClearSpectrum™-TDCMX will be on display during the ECOC 2009 (http://conference.vde.com/ecoc-2009/Pages/Home.aspx) exhibition, September 21-23rd in Vienna, Austria, Booth #737 in Hall Z.
