Texas' First In-Line Chick-fil-A Restaurant Concept Opening Nov. 8; New Greenville Location Is Fourth of Its Kind in the Country

First 100 Adults in Line at New Chick-fil-A Restaurant to Win Free Chick-fil-A for a Year

GREENVILLE, TX--(Marketwire - November 6, 2007) - Chick-fil-A, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, will open its first in-line restaurant in Texas on Nov. 8, giving away $26,000 in free Chick-fil-A food to the first 100 adults in line that morning at the new restaurant in Greenville.

A one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A® Combo Meals (52 coupons) will be awarded to each of the first 100 adults, age 18 and older with identification, at the new restaurant at 3130 Highway 30. The line can begin forming up to 24 hours prior to the opening, with the prizes being given away on Nov. 8 between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The restaurant will open immediately afterward.

"Chick-fil-A's raving fans have turned our grand openings into overnight tailgate parties, often arriving 24 hours in advance with tents, TVs, sleeping bags, games, computers and other gear to spend the night," said Chick-fil-A Inc. President Dan Cathy, son of chain founder Truett Cathy. He will be visiting the new location on Wednesday afternoon prior to the opening on Thursday.

"We're excited about this new design which will enable us to better meet our customers' needs in areas where property is limited," said Cathy. "Greenville is an ideal market to introduce this concept in Texas based on area demographics and our strong brand awareness."

The new in-line restaurant in Greenville, which will feature a full dining room as well as drive-thru service, is the fourth of its kind in the country. It will incorporate Chick-fil-A's restaurant interior design that includes warmer colors, a variety of imported glass tiles and wood veneers. Chick-fil-A has added several other upgrades to the restaurant's dining look that will make the experience even more pleasurable and further separate it from its quick-service competitors. A variety of different seating areas will provide an upscale dining experience; they include a section of soft arm chairs, curved banquettes and dining counters, as well as more traditional booths and tables with chairs seating more than 120 customers.

Mike Tschirhart has been selected as the franchised Operator of the new in-line Chick-fil-A in Greenville. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Tschirhart has over 27 years of experience in the food industry prior to joining the Chick-fil-A family. He is married to Becky, who will be handling the marketing and administrative duties for the restaurant. Tschirhart and his wife have two sons currently attending college.

"For 40 years, the Chick-fil-A legacy has grown to represent award-winning freshly prepared food and 'my pleasure' customer service," said Tschirhart. "My team looks forward to continuing that tradition at our new location in Greenville."

The award-winning drive-thru service offers a convenient way for Chick-fil-A customers to get their freshly prepared food on the go. The new restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., serving a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m.

Consumers, who recently participated in Zagat's first fast food survey, scored Chick-fil-A the highest in the chicken restaurant category and also in the service category. QSR® magazine released its 2006 scores for the Best Drive-Thru in America Survey with the Chick-fil-A chain's overall composite scores placing it in the lead -- making it four out of the past five years that the chain has earned top rankings.

Raving fans are after the original Chick-fil-A boneless breast of chicken sandwich, which Truett Cathy invented in his 24-hour Dwarf Grill® diner near Atlanta in the early 1960s. The sandwich, with its signature pickle slices, became so popular that Cathy opened his first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta's Greenbriar Mall in 1967. The opening launched Chick-fil-A, which today is the second-largest chicken restaurant chain in the country with more than 1,345 locations in 37 states and Washington, D.C.
