Text, Tweet, or Phone: Save the Children's Haiti Help-a-Thon Enlists Local Support for Relief Efforts in Haiti

WESTPORT, CT--(Marketwire - January 16, 2010) - Save the Children's Help-a-Thon is a virtual event to raise much-needed funds for the agency's emergency response efforts in Haiti, where an estimated three million people are in need of food, water and medical care following the massive earthquake last Tuesday. The Help-a-Thon is scheduled for January 18, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. EST.

"We're reaching out to texters and tweeters (and even those who still use the phone) to raise money for Save the Children's relief efforts in Haiti," says Anne-Marie Grey, Vice President of Resource Development at Save the Children. "If everyone takes a few minutes to contact five or more friends and asks them to donate, we could make a huge difference for survivors of this tragic disaster."
