TextGuard Announces Addition of Android to Mobile Compliance Solution

Addition of New Device Client Application Provides TextGuard With Most Expansive SMS Capture and Archiving Solution

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 25, 2010) - TextGuard, the leading provider of mobile communication compliance solutions, today announced the availability of its Android device client application which will enable enterprises to log, archive, review, extract, and supervise all SMS messaging on company Android devices. With the TextGuard Compliance platform, all mobile messages are identified, collected, and archived, allowing companies to establish meaningful internal compliance policies regarding mobile devices and to meet compliance mandates from all relevant regulatory bodies. TextGuard currently also provides applications for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices, and has a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Edition.

With its easy, intuitive user interface, TextGuard for Android can be installed on the device and operational within minutes. When a message is sent to or from the Android device, the client makes a copy of the message and delivers the message to TextGuard's message archiver where it is encrypted and stored. TextGuard for Android also includes sophisticated uninstall protection which provides resistance to the user during the uninstall process and provides notification to compliance administrators of users' attempts to uninstall the application.

"With Android continuing to capture market share every day, our Android application is an important addition to our product offering," said TextGuard founder and CEO Todd Michael Cohan. "To remain the leader in Mobile Compliance, we intend to continue to stay ahead of the industry and marketplace trends," Mr. Cohan explained.

Mobile messaging content, like other forms of electronic communication, is subject to electronic discovery rules, which require organizations to manage and produce electronically stored information (ESI) in a timely and complete manner during litigation. Companies in highly-regulated industries, such as financial services or government, are obligated to preserve communications and to produce these messages when necessary. In addition, SEC and FINRA regulations require financial services firms to regularly review their representatives' mobile messaging, document these visual inspections and note any actions that result. Depending on the industry, failure to comply with these regulations can result in fines, loss of license and other administrative sanction. In addition, other non-regulated companies have begun to develop internal policies aimed at monitoring employee dissemination through mobile devices of sensitive company information.
