The COLBERT Among Entries in 'Name the Train' Contest

Customers Submit Creative Suggestions Through Hartsfield-Jackson's Social Media

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - April 8, 2010) -  The COLBERT, the SWEET T and the Kudzu Express are some of the first week's entries in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's "Name the Train" contest. Since the contest began April 1, more than 400 suggested names for the Airport's automated people mover (APM) have been submitted.

To enter, participants watch a behind-the-scenes video about the APM on the Airport's YouTube channel ( or on its Facebook fan page ( and then post suggestions as comments on the video.

Among the creative entries so far are the Crimson Rocket, the Zipper, The Billy Jack Tube and the Hey!Train. Fans of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" will be pleased to see that the talk show host has not been forgotten: COLBERT (Carrier of Lovely Beautiful Excited Ready Travelers) was submitted on the Airport's Facebook fan page on the first day of the contest.

Other entries make references to the South: SWEET T (Saves Walking to Each and Every Terminal Train), Gone With the Wind, the RHETT (Rapid High-Efficiency Terminal Transporter), The PeachTree Express and the P-NUT (People's Nomadic Underground Train).

"Name the Train" has brought more attention to the Airport's growing social media campaign and has increased the number of Facebook fans by more than 300.

The participant whose entry is selected will win a $100 American Express gift card and a certificate of recognition bearing the winner's name and the new name for the APM. The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. April 28. The winner will be notified via the social media user account through which he or she submitted the entry.
