The Central Band of the Canadian Forces Presents a Remembrance Week Concert

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2007) - The Central Band of the Canadian Forces along with the Air Command Pipes & Drums invites residents of the National Capital Region to attend a Remembrance Week concert at the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, Friday, November 9th starting at 7pm.

The two-hour mix of wartime and more recent music will feature various soloists from The Central Band of the Canadian Forces. Complimentary admission is available to veterans and their accompanying family members (up to three) and members of the Canadian Forces with identification.

"The Central Band and the Air Command Pipes & Drums want to honour serving and past members of the Canadian Forces," said Major Gerry Heslip, Commanding Officer and Director of Music of The Central Band of the Canadian Forces. "Our hope, in putting on this concert, is to increase people's awareness of the sacrifices made by Canada's veterans for the preservation of Canada, our way of life, and the world in which we live."

The admission fee for the general public includes both the concert and entrance into the museum: $10 (adult 18+), senior/student $8, children $6 (ages 3-12) and a family of four $25.
