The Illinois Technology Association Announces 11th Annual CityLIGHTS Award Winners

Technology Veterans and Rising-Stars Gather to Celebrate the Vitality and Success of the Illinois' Technology Community


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - April 30, 2010) -  The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) is honored to announce the winners of the 2010 ITA CityLIGHTS Awards.

ITA presented the awards on Thursday, April 29 at the CityLIGHTS Awards Gala at Union Station in downtown Chicago. Voting participation set a new record in 2010, with more than 4,000 voters and 20,000 votes cast, reflecting the strength of the 2010 finalists and the continued growth of the Illinois technology community.

The gala is held annually to celebrate the state's thriving technology ecosystem and highlight some of the advancements of the past year.

The 2010 Award winners are:

  • CityLIGHTS Award: Given to an individual that has made a significant impact on the Illinois technology community.
    • Jack Noonan

  • CEO of the Year Award: Given to an individual contributing to the extraordinary business development of their company over the past year.
    • Brian R. Gamache, Chairman and CEO, WMS Industries, Inc.

  • Rising Star Award: Given to the company that has emerged from its start-up phase to distinguish itself in the technology marketplace.

  • Newcomer Award: Given to the company that has the strongest potential to emerge from its start-up phase and distinguish itself in the technology marketplace.
    • TickIt Trading Systems

  • Spotlight Award: Given to the CIO/CTO for leadership and outstanding contributions in the application of information technology.
    • Stuart Scholly, COO, Physicians Interactive

  • Lighthouse Award: Given to the company that best represents the region's growing stature as home to world-class information technology companies.
    • Redbox Automated Retail, LLC
