The Mayor's Office of New York Selects Spigit to Power Citywide Innovation Initiative

Spigit's Idea Management Platform Called "Simplicity" Will Jumpstart Innovation Through Increased Transparency and Collaboration Among City Employees

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - January 19, 2011) - Spigit, the leader in purpose-built innovation management, announced today that it has been chosen by the mayor's office of New York City to drive employee collaboration and ideation. This will be the city's first internal innovation community and will target more than 15,000 of the city's government workforce in its first rollout. Upon the success of the pilot, the city plans to expand the Spigit platform to all 300,000 city employees. Through the use of Spigit's effective crowdsourcing capabilities, proven game mechanics, and social networking tools, the City of New York will now be able to break down communication silos and dramatically improve internal collaboration and sharing of ideas.

Mayor Bloomberg is widely recognized for his support of "open government."
