The Montreal Alouettes: Rookie Camp Report/Day 3

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 20, 2006) - The following is a recap of Day 3 of the Alouettes' Rookie Camp now taking place at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.

Special teams

Today's rookie practice was focused mostly on special teams. The next time the rookies hit the field will be with the vets tomorrow.

Vets' medicals

The veterans underwent their medicals at the McGill Sports Centre today. Dr. Vincent Lacroix and Dr. Eric Lenczner, the team's main doctors, oversaw the session along with Head Trainer Rodney Sassi.


The following players have been released in order to make room for the veterans' practice tomorrow:

James Ammar (guard - Rocky Mountain)
Calvin Coleman (cornerback - Montana)
Roosevelt Cooks (linebacker - Nevada)
Ryan Dinwiddie (quart - Boise State)
Kevin Emanuel (defensive end - Florida State)
Martin Gagnon (linebacker - Laval)
Reggie Germany (slotback - Ohio State)
Jesse Heller (defensive tackle - Elon)
Keeyon Howard (cornerback - Central Methodist)
David Horne (running back - Northern Iowa)
James Noel (linebacker - Robert Morris)

Tomorrow's schedule

Practice (8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) will be open to media only on Sunday at the Stade Haut-Richelieu but all fans are welcome for Opening Day in the tents of the campus as of 11 a.m. for an autograph session.
