The Montreal Alouettes: Training Camp Report-Day 16

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 5, 2006) - The following is today's recap of the Montreal Alouettes' training camp now taking place at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.

New formations

The Alouettes practiced their offensive and defensive plays but put more emphasis on practicing their goal line and short yardage plays.


The following players were released;

Brad Adams (centre - Western Ontario),
Tony Akpan (defensive tackle - Hawaii),
David Ashkinaz (guard - Central Florida),
Lynaris Elpheage (defensive back - Tulane),
Brandon Evans (tackle -Houston),
Michael Franklin (running back - San Diego State),
Travis Glasford (running back - Western Illinois),
Christian Leibl-Cote (guard - New Hampshire),
Marcus McGruder (cornerback - Wake Forest).


The following players were added to the roster:

Mathieu Cock's-Morissette (guard - Bishop's),
Les Mullings (fullback - Saint Mary's),
Jarwarski Pollock (receiver - North Carolina)
and R-Kal Truluck (defensive end - Cortland).

Trying to adapt

Receiver Ell Roberson had many great catches during today's practice. The former quarterback stayed after practice today attempting to improve his positional skill with the help of cornerback Darrel Crutchfield. Fullback Jeff Piercy also had a beautiful catch in between tight defensive coverage.

Ideal weather

The sun came out from yesterday's clouds to bring ideal temperatures to Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.

This week's schedule

Tuesday and Wednesday, practice will start at 10 a.m. at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.
