The Montreal Alouettes: Training Camp Report-Day 2

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 22, 2006) - The following is today's recap of the Montreal Alouettes' training camp now taking place at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.

First complete session

The Alouettes held their first complete two-practice session with the vets today.

Coach Matthews' comments

About the quarterbacks: "Anthony Calvillo is number one and all the others are tied for number two." About the defensive line: "The pressure up the middle from the front four is better than last year." About Étienne Boulay, injured at yesterday's practice: "We're very disappointed for Boulay because he was very impressive in the short time he was out there."

Standing out

According to Coach Matthews, Terrance Edwards, D.D. Acholonu and Clint Kent are some of the players doing very well.

Shoulder pads

Today, vets wore their shoulder pads for the first time in 2006.
Guest coaches

Among the guest coaches at the Alouettes' training camp this season are Sherbrooke Vert et Or Head Coach Alain Lapointe and a few of his assistants who arrived today. St. Mary's Huskies' Defensive Line Coach Scott Annand has been at camp for a few days already.

Alouette Idol

Head Video Coordinator Colin Farquharson became the first Alouette Idol with a memorable Karaoke performance of "Rock And Roll All Nite" by Kiss.

Tomorrow's schedule

Two consecutive practices starting at 8 a.m. at the Stade Haut-Richelieu.
