OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2009) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, Oct. 2, to Friday, Oct. 9.

Happy Birthday Spartacat!

Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, invites everyone to his birthday party at Saunders Farm on Saturday, Oct. 3, from noon to 2 p.m. The party will involve interactive games, prizes, and of course, Sparty's birthday cake.

Spartacat to help announce winners of Ottawa Public Library's Every Kid a Card campaign

For the past six years, the Ottawa Public Library has run a Every Kid a Card campaign. Its aim is to have children get a new library card or renew an old one as part of their back-to-school preparations. By participating in this years campaign, the children received a package that included a public swim pass courtesy of the city of Ottawa, along with a hockey card from the Senatorsand a prize ballot from which the winners were drawn. Spartacat will join the celebration, helping to announce the winners on behalf of the Senators.
