The Teamsters Union and Purolator Convened to a Conciliation Meeting

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 30, 2008) - Jean-Pierre Blackburn, federal Minister of Labour, has convened Purolator management and the Teamsters Union's negotiators to a meeting in presence of a Mediator today.

Purolator employees have rejected by a margin of 51% the tentative agreement reached by the parties at the end of March 2008.

The Teamsters union represents Purolator's 10 000 employees throughout the country.

"We hope that this meeting will manage to break the deadlock," explains Robert Bouvier, President of Teamsters Canada.

Contrary to what has been published by certain media, Purolator and the Teamsters Union are not in contact at this time, but the meeting will take place in Montreal at 4:00 p.m. today.
