This Holiday Season... Give the Planet a Gift... Offset Your Carbon Emissions with a cleanairpass™

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2007) -

Attention: General Assignment Editors, Energy & Environment

cleanairpass™ a North American leader in providing a practical way for individuals and businesses to help stop global warming through the purchase of carbon offset emissions, is now offering individuals a way to offset some or all of their CO2 emissions as a holiday gift.

Using cleanairpass™ consumers can now purchase carbon offsets on-line as a gift or as a way to offset common lifestyle and everyday activities.

Some examples of common CO2 emissions, the impact on the environment what it costs to eliminate and how cleanairpass™ can help environmentally conscious individuals give the planet, their friends and family a gift to help stop global warming.

- Give a 1 tonne carbon offset cleanairpass™ as a House Warming Gift at a cost of $18.01. You'll be reducing greenhouse gases and contributing to a greenhouse gas reduction project such as wind or solar power.

- Offset your vehicle emissions for an entire year with a 5 tonne Emissions Saver cleanairpass™ for $75.41.

- Offset your energy footprint for a year. North Americans emit about 20 tonnes of greenhouse gases a year as part of daily living. Give the planet the ultimate gift--A Whole Living cleanairpass™ that will cover a year's worth of CO2 emissions for $290.66.

"While it's not possible to completely eliminate CO2 emissions from our daily lives," says Bryce Conacher, founder and CEO of cleanairpass™ inc., "carbon offsetting is one part of the green solution by funding carbon emission reduction projects such as methane capture, or wind and solar power." (see projects on www.cleanairpass.com).

Individuals are mailed a cleanairpass™ certificate validating the purchase and certifying that a verified emissions reduction project will receive the credit and the funds. Gift certificates are also available.

All carbon offsets purchased by cleanairpass are sourced from verified projects that reduce greenhouse gases and meet international standards including ISO 14064-2 and/or the Gold Standard. cleanairpass™ will also source from the new Voluntary Carbon Standard when it becomes available in 2008.

What is a carbon offset and how does it work?

A "carbon offset", is a quantified unit of the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) equal to a one tonne reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. When you buy an 'offset' the purchase goes towards reducing your emissions by investing in third party verified sustainable projects that are designed to reduce greenhouse gases. The number of carbon offsets required to achieve carbon neutrality is determined by the amount of carbon emissions a particular activity like driving a car produces.

Some Renewable Energy Projects supported by cleanairpass™

Tire Recycling Plant, Quebec. This activity reduces greenhouse gas emissions through the transformation of used tires from cars and trucks instead of using newly sourced rubber. The company produces rubber carpets and other products from second-hand tires.

Agricultural methane, Vander Haak Dairy Project Washington, USA

This project began in 2004 and has the capacity to treat and capture manure, a potent greenhouse gas, from about 1,500 milk cows using a GHD plug-flow anaerobic digester. The emission reductions from this process amounts to 560 tonnes of methane per year, which is about 10,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalents.
