Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre: Toronto Prepares to Welcome the Dalai Lama

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 8, 2009) - The Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre is once again honored to formally announce the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Toronto from October 15th – 17th, 2010. This event will mark the Dalai Lama's fourth visit to Toronto.

His Holiness will be the Guest of Honour for the Official Opening Ceremony of the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre (TCCC) on October 16th, 2010. The TCCC's 50,000 square footage of community space will soon undergo major renovations that are scheduled to reach near completion by March 2010.

The TCCC will house the first and largest collection of Tibetan arts and culture in North America; and serve as the location for the Canadian Museum of Cultural Heritage of Tibetan-Canadians. The extraordinary complex will also have multi-purpose facilities for sports, wellness and the performing arts for use by all community users.

Team of building designer and architects will recreate the space from warehouse to full fledged community use. By incorporating traditional Tibetan-styles and contemporary environmentally friendly features, it will create an impressive facility in the South Etobicoke area.
