Ticket Research Experts to Speak on the Economy of Entertainment at Ticket Summit Conference

VERNON, CT--(Marketwire - December 21, 2009) - Ticket Summit, the leading conference and trade show for ticketing and entertainment executives, today announced its roster of notable academic researchers who have joined the Keynote session of the conference. The Ticket Summit January conference -- a three-day event scheduled January 13-15, 2010 at The Waldorf=Astoria in New York City -- will include a Keynote session on Thursday, January 14 featuring Joris Drayer (University of Memphis), James Reese (SUNY Cortland), and Stephen Shapiro (Old Dominion University).

This Keynote session titled "The Economics of Ticketing" aims to address how venues, box offices, and ticketing agents are being affected by the changing economy. The academic experts on the panel will be providing their analysis of the fiscal changes occurring in the industry, and the economic trends to be expected in 2010. "Whether you are a box office manager or an event promoter, a ticketing agent or a league executive, the economy is top of mind for everyone in the ticketing 'food chain,'" said Dr. Molly A. Martinez, Executive Director, Ticket Summit. "This session will be a constructive opportunity for attendees to discuss strategies to carry them through this recession economy."

More than five-hundred attendees from around the country and the world are expected to attend the upcoming conference, including ticketing agents, event promoters, venue managers, and box office executives.
