John Mayer will hit the road with the John Mayer Trio to promote his fourth studio album "Battle Studies" in Early February 2010 beginning in Charleston, SC. Mayer will be joined by the reggae fusion band Michael Franti & Spearhead and the tour will extend through April 2010 with more than forty dates along the way.

John Mayer, a Bridgeport, CT native, began playing the guitar at age thirteen. After a short stint at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he moved to Atlanta, GA to tour the coffee house and club circuit with fellow artist Clay Cook. Mayer soon parted with Cook in order to pursue a solo career characterized by pop music. He eventually signed with Aware Records after releasing his first studio album "Inside Wants Out" and appeared at the South by Southwest Music Festival (tickets) in 2000.

Since then, the blue-eyed soul artist has released four studio albums, three of which have reached multi-platinum status. Mayer has won multiple Grammy Awards including Song of the Year, a Radio Music Award in Modern Adult Contemporary Radio and the coveted Songwriters Hall of Fame Starlight Award. Mayer has collaborated with B.B. King (tickets), Buddy Guy (tickets), Eric Clapton and Taylor Swift (tickets) and has toured with Maroon 5, Guster and Counting Crows.

"With an extensive repertoire of collaborations, this blues star is way beyond his years," said Alexandra Owens, Managing Editor, TicketLiquidator. "With a new chart-topping album in stores, the John Mayer Battle Studies Tour is slated to be the best one yet," Owens added.

According to Mayer, "'Battle Studies' was written with the timelessness of Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young in mind. The melodies and messages are concise and from-the-gut with the efficiency of simplicity." During its first week of release in late November 2009, "Battle Studies" skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. With tickets expected to sell out in the upcoming months, John Mayer tickets are the TicketLiquidator Ticket of the Week.
